Today, Making Waves Hair Design employs a team of more than 10 professional stylists with each one being carefully screened and evaluated for their styling expertise before they are hired. Ms. Marleau and her Making Waves salon are visible to the community in ways other than styling expertise, as she understands that there is more to business than regular store hours. Across the community, Ms. Marleau has become integrally involved with Kinsmen Cornwall Lift-Off, one of the largest outdoor summer festivals in eastern Ontario and one that attracts more than 50,000 visitors to the City. In addition, she has long been a supporter of her residential community's winter carnival. Each year, the tiny hamlet of Glen Walter, located just east of Cornwall on the banks of the mighty St. Lawrence River, holds a hugely popular wintery event and Ms. Marleau has been one of its staunchest supporters. Making Waves is a regular exhibitor in the Cornwall & Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Home shows. The salon is sometimes showcased at the event's 'centre stage' offering timely styling tips to an appreciative audience.
